The BOX on the Water restaurant, lounge bar and beach kiosk is situated in prime position on the newly redeveloped foreshore in Ettalong Beach on the beautiful NSW Central Coast. It has panoramic views out across Broken Bay to Wagstaffe on the Bouddi peninsula, to its namesake Box Head and past Lion Island to Barranjoey headland at the top of Sydney's northern beaches. Ettalong Beach is one hour and a half's drive from central Sydney and can be accessed by passenger ferry from Palm Beach. The picturesque journey takes around 25 minutes, timetable.
Owned and run by local residents, Monique Keogh and Natasha Nicholson, The BOX on the Water prides itself on offering delicious food and friendly, attentive service. Its stunning, absolute waterfront location and stylish, inviting aesthetic make, 'The BOX', the local choice for a casual visit or special occasion, and a hit with tourists all year round.
Head chef, David Peters, is young, ambitious and highly motivated. He has created a fresh, modern Australian menu including seasonally appropriate seafood, a variety of small plates, larger plates and share plates that can be mixed and matched or enjoyed in the more traditional style. Fast service and the ability to cope effortlessly under pressure are just some of Dave's valuable strong points.
The BOX is managed by the endlessly energetic, Melissa Lamb. Her previous experience includes General Manager at Sydney's famous Rockpool restaurant, working under acclaimed chef Neil Perry, before fourteen years at Qantas. She has established a friendly, efficient team who operate in a relaxed manner, where nothing is too much trouble.
The restaurant is open all year round for lunch everyday, dinner Thursday to Monday and breakfast at the weekends only. The kiosk opens everyday from 7am to 4pm. On Friday to Sunday, The BOX is open between lunch and dinner services for sunset sips with the bar menu.
